Jasmine Barber is a formidable litigator on behalf of her clients in criminal matters, including traffic citations, misdemeanor charges, and complex felony defense. In addition, Jasmine is our resident Law Lady for transactional services such as estate planning, contract drafting, and entity formation.
Jasmine hit the ground running by starting her career handling some of the most complex felony matters in the State of Georgia as an Assistant Conflict Defender in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit.
During Jasmine’s first year in practice, she graduated from the GACDL (Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers) – Bill Daniels Trial Advocacy Program where she was trained by 25 of the nations top trial attorneys. This program produced the powerful litigator we know today with extensive hours of training in every aspect of trial, from jury selection to closing arguments.
Jasmine also has a broad depth of experience with Civil Litigation from her work in private practice focusing on the representation of creditors. In this capacity, Jasmine handled hundreds of trials and mediations, drafted and analyzed complex contractual agreements, and successfully negotiated countless settlements to the benefit of her clients. Her experience and knowledge is exactly what clients expect of a Law Lady!
Background and Education
Jasmine is a native Atlantan, who discovered her passion for the law when she earned her degree in Criminology from the University of Florida.
She realized she found her calling and graduated in the Top Five Percent of her class from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. Due to her academic success she was invited to participate in an honors program to accelerate her career concentrated in criminal justice.
Jasmine somehow still found time to donate hundreds of pro bono hours to indigent clients, serve on the Executive Board for the John Marshall Law Review, serve as Academic Chair for the Black Law Students Association, and receive the honor of being a Quarter Finalist in the Regional Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition.
Professional Accolades and Bar Admissions
Jasmine is admitted to appear in all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the Northern District and Middle District Federal Courts. She is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and a member of the following sections of the Georgia Bar: Criminal Law, General Practice and Trial and Real Property Law.
Who says attorney’s are all bookworms? Outside of the courtroom Jasmine loves cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and ziplining! She is also an active member of First Saint Peter AME Church.
